Animal Control now under Sheriff's Office
All Animal Control operations have been placed under the supervision of the Caroline County Sheriff’s Office effective July 1, 2008. The transfer from the County Administrator’s Office, approved by the Board of Supervisors during the Fiscal Year 2008-2009 budget process, is designed to improve service to the public. “We’re excited about the opportunity to take on this new responsibility at the Board’s request,” said Sheriff Anthony A. “Tony” Lippa, Jr. “All three current Animal Control Officers are certified in law enforcement. This training, combined with the ability of Sheriff’s deputies to respond to animal control related calls, gives us the versatility to provide more effective public service. Animal Control can assist our deputies with law enforcement calls and vice versa”. The primary point of contact for Animal Control will continue to be Chief Animal Control Officer Sergeant Kenneth Harris. Officer Harris can be reached at the Caroline County Animal Shelter at (804) 633-9041. Questions or concerns should be directed to Sheriff Lippa at 633-1120.
