Helpful Resources
Photo identification with fingerprints gives authorities vital information to help them locate a missing child.
The Sheriff's Office periodically schedules events where you can get a free photo of your child and a set of his or her fingerprints using quick, clean, inkless technology. You may also arrange to bring your child to our office or fingerprinting.
Please call 804-633-1120 or fill out the form to make an appointment.
How Fingerprints Find a Child
If a child is missing, law enforcement authorities can use the child's completed identification kit to scan the child's fingerprints into the National Crime Information Center database. These fingerprints can then be used to help locate the child in a variety of ways.
This innovative program is designed for those that live alone.
- After an application process, the Sheriff's Office will call the resident daily to check on their welfare.
- If phone contact cannot be made, a deputy will come by to check on the resident.
Please call 804-633-1120 or fill out the form for more information.
