Members of this team perform their regularly assigned duties and also attend special trainings regularly.
Our K-9 unit consists of Sergeant Williams and his partner, K-9 Ike. The CCSO K-9s specialize in tracking, searching, and narcotics. The K-9 teams are certified annually through the Virginia Police Work Dog Association (VPWDA).
Bicycle operations provide a versatile means of patrolling certain communities in Caroline County and assist in furthering the community policing and crime prevention efforts of this office. Bicycle operations provide for a better exchange of information between the Sheriff's Office and our citizens because the officers are more accessible and approachable on bicycles than in a motor vehicle.
The Honor Guard unit posts and presents the nations colors at various events. The Honor Guard is the formal representative of the Sheriff's Office at all types of functions in Caroline County. The CCSO Honor Guard consists of Sergeant Eichenmiller, Sergeant Franklin, Sergeant Turner, and Investigator Cardoso.
The CCSO Motorcycle Unit is used for all phases of traffic control including routine patrol and specialized traffic details. The unit can be used for patrol purposes, congested traffic situations, funeral escorts, and parades. Sergeant Franklin is the head of the CCSO Motorcycle Unit.
